John Rivera Sedlar grew up under turquoise New Mexico skies, eating traditional foods in his Grandma Eloisa's and Great Aunt Corinna's kitchens in Santa Fe and Abiquiu Pueblo. As a chef who was acclaimed as "the father of Modern Southwest Cuisine" by Gourmet magazine and "the Tamale King" by his fellow chefs and writers, he has earned a reputation for cooking stylish modern interpretations of the authentic dishes found in his beloved Southwestern birthplace. Today, it is his greatest pleasure to bring the products of his modern Southwest Kitchen to America's home cooks.
